Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
Add the sugar and stir until well combined. Remove the saucepan from heat.
Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
Add the cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, espresso powder (if using), and vanilla extract to the mixture,stirring until smooth.
Add the flour and chocolate chips, stirring until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out with a fewmoist crumbs attached.
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
