Ingredients
- 2-3 pounds of steak (such as ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak)
- Salt and pepper
- Olive oil
- Garlic cloves, minced (optional)
- Fresh herbs, such as rosemary or thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Take the steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling.
- Preheat the grill to high heat.
- Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and pepper.
- Drizzle a little bit of olive oil on both sides of the steak and rub it in.
- If desired, sprinkle minced garlic and fresh herbs over the steak and rub them in as well.
- Place the steak on the grill and let it cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness, or longer if you prefer your steak more well-done
- Use tongs to flip the steak over and be careful not to pierce it, as this can release juices and make the steakdry.
- Once the steak is done, take it off the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
