Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks
  • Add the onion, bell peppers, and garlic to the skillet and cook until the vegetables are tender.
  • Add the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the skillet and stir to combine.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and kidney beans (if using) to the skillet and stir to combine.
  • Bring the chili to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and the flavors are well combined
  • Season the chili with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Serve the chili hot, garnished with chopped cilantro, if desired.
