Ingredients
For the dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp salt
For the filling:
- 1/2 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the sauce:
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the topping:
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried mint
Instructions
- To make the dough, combine the flour, egg, water, and salt in a large bowl. Mix until a dough forms. Kneadthe dough on a floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- To make the filling, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper in a bowl.Mix until well combined.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it is very thin. Cut the dough into small squares, about 1 inch insize.
- Place a small amount of the meat filling onto each square. Fold the square in half to form a triangle andpinch the edges together to seal.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the dumplings to the water and cook for about 15 minutes oruntil they float to the top.
- To make the sauce, combine the yogurt, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
- To serve, place the cooked dumplings onto a plate. Drizzle with the yogurt sauce and melted butter. Sprinklewith paprika and dried mint.
