Ingredients
- 6-7 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- Vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a 9x13 inch baking dish, melt the butter in the oven.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, 1 cup of the sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the milk and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven and pour the batter over the melted butter.
- In another bowl, combine the sliced peaches, cinnamon (if using), and remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Mix well.
- Pour the peach mixture over the batter, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes outclean.
- Allow the peach cobbler to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, ifdesired.
