Ingredients
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of instant yeast
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups of warm water
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
- Add the olive oil and warm water and stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10-15 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until it hasdoubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to heat up.
- Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
- On a floured surface, roll out each ball of dough into a circle about 6-8 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick.
- Place the circles of dough onto the hot pizza stone or baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes, until the breadis puffed up and lightly browned.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
