Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2/3 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua)
- 24 ladyfingers
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- Shaved chocolate, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale yellow in color.
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Add the mascarpone cheese to the egg mixture and whisk until smooth.
- Fold in the whipped cream until the mixture is well combined.
- In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange them in a single layer in the bottom of a9x13 inch baking dish.
- Pour half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, spreading it evenly.
- Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Sift the cocoa powder over the top of the tiramisu.
- Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- Before serving, garnish with shaved chocolate, if desired.
