  • 6 large bell peppers
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Set the peppers aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  • Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, cooked rice, salt, black pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes to the skillet.Stir to combine.
  • Cook the mixture for 5 minutes, or until heated through.
  • Stuff the bell peppers with the beef and rice mixture.
  • Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and sprinkle with Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve hot.
